Default Brake Pedal Kicks Back!

Finally got my car back on the road (legally).

However, my ABS warning light is on all the time. I swapped the ABS computer with another one I had in my shed. That cured the problem, but a week later the light came back on.

Now when i press down on the brake pedal, I can feel it press back on my foot...I think more so when it is cold.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It can also be caused by rust build up on the rear driveshaft rings for the abs, if a loose bit of rust flakes is across the gap it causes issues.

As above, I had this on an old car, I cleaned the sensors and rings up which cured it for a while but it did come back. As a new sensor cost more than the car was worth I just pulled the ABS fuse and took the bulb out the dash!

It's as said a dirty sensor or ring gear, mine has always done this at low speed just before coming to a stop. Mine is caused by the O/S front sensor, I have the same problem as above I can't get it out so left it, but I will have an another look soon.

It won't necessarily illuminate the ABS light as that only comes on when part of the system is inoperative so far as I know, so if the ABS system is told incorrectly there is a discrepancy in wheel speed it will activate the ABS.

Trouble is by doing this the car won't pass an MOT, I wouldn't buy one of the sensors new due to the rip off prices, last one I got was from another car.

I wasn't keeping the car anyway, sold it to a mate of mine, who promptly wrote it off 3 days later

They don't need to be cossie abs sensors, or even abs sensors, any hall effect sensor of the correct value/resistance can be used, that can be made to fit.
