how low can you go at the front?

As said above any lower and you'll start destroying driveshafts which is what leads some people to fit XR4x4 front shafts as they are sligthly longer plus check the condition of your engine mounts if these are worn it will allow the engine to rock putting even more strain on the shafts.
Alot of people on here recomend ahmed bahjoo springs with koni shocks.

Yep. Konis up front are good. Defo on the engine mounts as I got through 6 cv joints and 3 drive shafts in 2 years (not ragging it either) till I realised the engine mounts were shot.

I would personnally go the koni's and bajhoo springs route, cheaper than coilovers perfect ride quality for road use not harsh like coilovers (unless you are doing track days) and the ride height is spot on too

Wouldnt go any lower than this buddy not if plan to do lots of miles anyway mine eats about 2 gaitors every six months, xr4x4 shafts are a good idea as paul said better to have them at a good angle
