Default saph rear beam the same as 3dr???

hello guys is a 3dr beam the same as a saph beam and the rear arms too...

as mines not in the best condition and a friend has a completely polybushed rear beam for a good price???

well thats a pain as its the arms that are crap lol

i heard its something to do with the rear anti roll bar???

yes mate, the rear arb mounts are outboard on the 3dr and inboard on the rest of the range

it's fairly simple enough to fabricate the inboard mounts, they just need welding onto the body and job done

i'm sure martin has done this and posted up pics previously, others may have done it too but his mentions stick out as he was telling us about how it was all set up too

I did this on my mk1 sierra, very easy job, took a couple of hours that's all.
The 3dr rear arb isn't worth a shit tbh, as had that on the mk1 1 prior to going sapphy type, massive improvement the sapphy type made.

Has any1 got a link to a thread that shows how to do it as i got a couple of small bits of welding to do anyway

I may have some old piccies I could dig out but not sure.
All I used was some 1" flat 5mm thick mild steel, drilled three holes then used a file to open them up into a slot for the tang of the bracket, then put bracket tang through as though fitted, marked the centre of the holding bolt, drilled tapped hole for bolt, do this toi two bits of flat, offer up to car with arb/bushes installed mark out with scribe, grind to bare metal and then weld brackets on.
