The headertank on my 2wd is cracked and the level sensor has broken off aswell.
I dont want to replace it with a stainless Bailey one as I prefer the original look.
Am I right in thinking that standard 2wd ones are no longer available and that I have to use a 4wd one? Are these a direct replacement with regards to how they attach to the inner wing and also do they come with the level sensor like the 2wd ones have? The photos I've seen of the 4wd ones don't seem to have a level sensor on them.

I once replaced mine with a 4x4 tank and pipe before going alloy - it's not ideal if you want OE 2wd but unfortunately its the only standard option as all 2wd tanks are in pretty bad condition unless you are willing to pay big bucks for one.

4x4 tanks are around Ł40 and you can pick up the pipe off ebay or classified

you can still get the 4x4 header tanks new - there is one ebay for 55quid.

4x4 dont have the level sensor

Ford still do the pipe as well. I wont tell you what I have been offered for my new 2wd coolant bottle... could buy another car with it!!!

Well I've had a bit of good luck and a bit of bad luck with this, I've got hold of a half decent 2wd bottle off a mate but it has no level sensor with it so now I just need to get hold of the level sensor. But for now I need to try and think of a way to temporarily block the hole where the sensor would go, which probably won't be an easy task, hoping I might be able to find a screw cap lid from an oil drum or something to use.
