Default 3dr owners quick help needed

Pre 1987 vehicle - not sure if this part is the same as Sapphire onwards??

Just need someone to check what colour the wire is going to the oil pressure sensor in the adapter where the oil - turbo feed pipe (for those that may not know)

I'm saying and viewing one thing and the FMC wiring diagram is saying another

Can someone also clarify what the fuel sender is
No 58 on the wiring diagram (Aux warning system)

many thanks

Mines just getting a bit of rewrapping treatment and i have come across this

Inside the old tape it was completely covered in green powder and one of the wires that was under a bit of tape just came away - i haven't checked it all yet but what causes this correction (i take it is?) is it water thats got in to the tape?

To me it looks like a lot of wires have been cut and joined but i don't know why someone would have the need to do that as the wire look like front washer sensors etc which would explain why they stopped working

Is it best to cut a complete length out now and add new longer pieces in place and do it correctly?

The green powder will probably be decomposing copper from the wires.
That whole lot needs chopping out and redoing but it might be time to get a new loom all together a dodgy old loom cost me an engine as it dropped an injector at speed

Edit: Just relised it's your car loom not engine loom i'd probably just chop out the crap bits and solder in new wires and seal the joints with heat shrink then rewrap the whole lot with a good quality fabric loom tape.
That's what I did with mine when the engine was out.

Rich

Yep Rich it's the car side of the loom i have a PVC engine loom made by Ryan that side is fine

I have just looked at the section in question and have no idea why they have been cut and joined in so many places in the same section of loom unless it's had damage - doesn't look as if theirs been fire so god knows but it's about a section of 10" so i will build a small replacement loom and join in where the wire is good.

I have a wiring diagram for the Sierra up to 1987 but have no Key to work out the plug sensor etc without going over the whole of the bay and trying to identify has anyone got a PDF file with it on?

On my 3dr the wire that goes to the oil pressure sensor is green and brown. But it is covered over with a length of black sleeving (to protect it against heat I guess?)

Where abouts does the black and brown one come out of the loom? I'll see if I've got one on mine

The black and brown was under tape in the corner of the front crossmember near the L/H front light.

S[peaking the Paul S this wire may have been redundant as according to wiring diagrams is a Low level oil sensor which the Cosworth doesn't have but other high end models like the Ghia would have.

If anyone can shed any light on this - much appreciated
