Default 044 pump probs

hi guys got a quick question , i have a 2wd saph cosworth 044 bosch pump had some current problems to the pump and was wondering if i run my pump constant thru a relay if that would be ok .

Explain
Battery fused to relay to pump
relay normally open except when ignition on !

Yes you can, BUT for safetys sake fit it with a fuel cut off switch that is triggered by vibration/crash etc.
You can wire it directly to position 2(run) of the ignition, through relay, using the ignition simply as the switching side, ie terminal 86 on the relay, 85 being earth, 30 being battery supply(via fuse), 87 being live out put to pump.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DO THIS UNLESS IT IS THROUGH A CORRECT FUEL PUMP CUT OFF SWITCH, in case of accident etc.
