Dipstick

Dipstick
Ive asked this last year but never got a definative answer. Im running a 200 block with a 2wd sump. The engine still has the original 4wd dipstick and tube. I have already been told that I need a 2wd stick and tube and I have been trying to find out the exact differences.
My thinking is, the Max mark on both dipsticks sould be the same if not very close, as cranks etc are interchangeable. So the max mark is there so the crank doesnt hit the oil in the pan.
When I change the oil last time it took aroung 3.5 litres to the max mark which is about right I believe. So im assuming the only difference is the lower mark.
Has anyone actually measured the differences in the past, ie the length of both tubes and sticks and the max and lower marks from the top of the tubes??
Dont really want to be spending £50 if the max lines on both are the same as I check it regularly and keep it just below this level.
