Default a question about the sapphire shell?

Hi all

Right then iv got a question (sorry if its already been asked ?) about the sierra sapphire.

Can any of you tell me is there any diffrence's in the shell of say a base model 1.8 lx sapphire to a cosworth of the same year??

If i was to reshell a 1988 cosworth into a 1988 1.8 shell would everything be the same and bolt straight over?

Thanking you kindly
Andy

2WD is exactly the same shell as lesser models, 4x4 has reinforcements in the shell.

do you get an 88 1.8?
im thinking of doing the same,i have both cars but the i.d situation is making me think about it more.
dont post up on here what you decide as folk will tell you to ring the 2 cars or tell you it will be a replica blah blah blah as i have learned.i do believe they are the same, except the cos 4x4 shells are better insulated from noise and i read somewhere years ago the inner wings are made of slightly thicker metal than the rest of the saphires.

The 4x4s front wings and bulkhead area etc are reinforced, this is due to the transmission stress.

Thumbs up

I can confirm that on 2WD at least, they're exactly the same - I just converted a 1.6L to a Cosworth. My 1.6 is in mint condition (less then 16000 kilometres) and I wouldn't have found anything like it.....I'll post some pics soon.
