can i ask what the exact specs of these T34 & T38 turbo's are?

it's not always as simple as just putting on a smaller housing for better spool.
One needs to look at both the compressor and turbine wheel combination to understand the flow requirements needed in terms of exhaust housing.

i have an RS500 and i personally think anything smaller than a .63 on the rear is too small and will choke the exhaust side and not allow the engine to make any decent power.

i've had a garrett T03 on my cossie (for trial on the street) with a medium sized T04B compressor wheel and a standard T03 turbine wheel in a A/R .63.
it came on boost rather soon and it hit quite hard in the mid range, although when i tried to push it over 15-16psi, it would not flow due to too much back pressure in the turbine.

i then went back to the RS500 turbo with the .63 in the rear and although a little laggier (b/c of bigger wheels), it flows freely and holds power/boost to 7000 rpm.

so in summary, a turbo with evenly matched comp/turbine wheels and a .63 exhaust will flow very well for a street car and allow for a good amount of hp & torque.

cheers from Oz.
