Default 6 Degree rear beam-fitted and set up!

Hi,thought i would share this with you guys,i fitted a scs rear beam through winter and had it set up there last sat and had it out today for the first time i cannot beleive its the same car!!!
on slight corners on roads wheres before im on/off power
now it can be held flat out through slight corners and feels very stable at higher speeds, and when the back breaks away it dont violently snap back the other way it just comes back in nicely now.
anyone considering this conversion its well worth it

I would hope it would do something special for the "special" price, glad to see it does.
Got your 22mm arb on yet, or was this all done at same time ?, put the old arb on to see how much stability the 22mm gives even on a std beam, it's truly unreal.

Ł1K, why not mod the arms with joints, same result, if you reposition pick ups at same time.

There a lot of work in the 6 degree beams, the entire arm is altered.

no weight saving,if anything prob slight heavier due to more metal!
theres alot of work involved with the hoop(diff carrier)aswell.
i saw the jigs used to fabricate these up to and theres a few man hrs there...
there doulbled skinned with seam welds to almost factory finish.
when a std beam is sat next to one there is alot of difference, the inner arms are at a complete different angle(more of a straight angle to its mounting point, wheres the std arms curve up to the mounting point, therefore completly changing the pivot point!
all good stuff

It's the pivot point that is the problem, as std it is a semi trailing arm, compression of the suspension creates more camber, but also alters the toe.
Making the mount points parralel , then adjusting arms to suit keeps toe/and or where it is, vastly better than ford did, to be fair though ford had to use the parts bins due to cash constraints.

Makes quite a difference doesn't it! Especially noticable on bumpy roads

Troy from Northampton Motorsport is very good, does all the corner weighting also if you have coilovers, and is very very good.

Anywhere that has a good 4 wheel alignment set up. However, the Cossie is very sensitive to toe changes, so get your mate to PM me with how he intends to use the car and I will give you settings to suit, as it is these that are crucial .
