Default Sierra Sapphire Cosworth Police Cars K34 RSW, K388 OJR

Out of curiosity, just been looking at the 4x4 Cosworth Database, and this has probaly been asked before, but are the Police car Cosworths still out there in the police moteef/decals or have they gone back to there standard colour?

Mine was a cop car and was put back to plain white,it still had all the wiring in two lot of 20 core cable front to rear and a steel brace over the back seats to stop people escaping out the boot,a inverter under the dash maybe for the blue lights??and mounts in the rear window for the lights or stop police sign???.I'd like to know where it was used/what force??

could you pm me some pics of the inside. mine has police spec seats. need to know what the door cards should look like.

Anyone remember the J reg moonstone 4x4 that was used on X-cars in the mid nineties. Can't remember the index but wonder if it's still around.

got the sapphire ending in vta in a vanguard model it is a cornish one

They look good as police cars used to see a few saph and escort police cars from northumbria force in the early to mid 90's.

Did they all have no sunroof as mine has no sunroof but the wiring was all there for it

I know the copper who drove the manchester one . Hes now retired but said they where fast and they had to go on a 2-3 day course before they drove then for the first time . It was a 4x4 saph and he said mine must be a handful being rear wheel drive .LOL

that saff was on ebay about 6 months ago for sale as a rolling shell i dont think it was in the best of nick if my memory serves me and the guy was wanting about 1500 pounds

IIRC that was a ford publicity photo, not an actual tug by the police.

Hardly any of the Police cars had the so called "police spec" seats , most just had standard ones, ive seen a magenta one with them as standard.

Isnt that door card just a normal late spec one?

Geoff Dewitt used to have them in all the time and yes, most were in standard trim inside from what I recall. He did all the servicing for the Welsh Police cossies I think.

What force smashed that one up then?

my mum took me to the local police open day when i was a bout 10 and they had the sapphire cos traffic car there and a competition to be taken out for the afternoon with the traffic cop, was buzzin when i won, well my mum answered all the questions for me haha! heres a pic of the car not the best pic

The manchester police cosworth did get stolen when they chased someone on foot and left the engine running .
