Default bayjoo springs

Does anyone know if these come with a 25mm drop?

I've just bought a saff, its on koni's but its rite on its arse...speed bumps are a mare!

I had 25mm lowering springs on my last saff and really liked the ride quality and the way it looked

I've heard the ahmed springs are bang on but can only find them in 10 to 15mm drop

many thanks

Standard ride height at the back handles better. I found that the more I lowered the back the more oversteer I got on power in corners.

I knew they were to his spec but I was kind of hoping to get them on a 25mm drop...thanks for the help anyway guys!

While we are on the subject, can anyone recomend a decent set of springs with around a 20/25mm drop?..dont want anything too hard or too low as I dont want to ruin the ride/handling

Eibach if you want to go for a 25mm drop. Not the best for handling though.

can you dial out a 25mm drop with a adjustable beam to keep the handling right?

I dare say it's possible - quite an expensive solution though ( unless you were going to get an adjustable beam anyway )

So what would be the maximum amount the car could be lowered without ruining the geometry?

The amount that Ahmed has designed his springs for . People forget that Ahmed is as good with suspension as he is with mapping LOL. He spent hours and hours working out all the correct heights / roll centres / spring rates for the Cosworth range (the springs (unlike other manufacturers one type fits all) are NOT interchangeable between Escort, Sierra and Sapphire).

I have both the track and fast road spec springs in stock to suit the Sapphire.

If you want the best ride / handling / looks compromise, you're wasting your money on anything else .

I've tried most of the spring set ups and recommend the Ahmed ones over anything else (despite being able to sell all the other makes).

I wasnt questioning Ahmeds ability, not at all!..I just want the best all round set up I can get, without ruining the handling and dare I say it....the looks

At the moment the car looks ace but the rides extremely harsh and its difficult to get the power down...I plan to use the car mostly on the road with the occasional blast round track

How much is it for the Ahmed fast road springs?

I know, but I think you'd be mad to sacrifice everything else just to achieve a 10mm difference in height .

They're £170 inc delivery .

I hear what you're saying mush, there was no real doubt i would go for anything else, hence the reason i started the thread..was just hoping for a lower ride...BUT like you say, for the sake of 10mm i'm not going to ruin the handling!

Unfortunately lowering a Cosworth beyond what Ahmed recommends, screws the roll centres up . Blame Ford's bean counters who made the suspension decidedly "budget" LOL.

I don't think they did too bad a job with the suspension....although imagine how much faster than the Merc and E30 M3 it could have been with something like the Merc rear set-up.
