Default Rear caliper differences

Is there a difference between caliipers for all the cosworth models in Escort?

One of mine is seized on my S2, I need to replace it but not sure what's on it.

the 2wd calipers take a solid disc and have a narrow gap, 4x4s take a vented disc and have a wider gap

Right, got myself a pair of brand new 4x4 calipers. But it looks like i've got solid discs...

i take it there isn't enough travel to use the solid disc in the 4by caliper? If not, can i use the outer mounting part of the caliper from the 2wd on the 4by calipers? If not, I guess i need vented discs, but they are overkill on an S2 really.

Just to clarify....

When you say 4wd you mean Cosworth 4wd, if they are XR4x4 rear calipers they take the solid disc...

if you are using solid discs then ANY sierra/granada rear caliper will do the trick, nothign special

if you use the vented discs then you need to get a 4wd cossie caliper, be it escort or sierra (or 24V granada)

I've been reading this and just so that i'm clear....

I'm looking for a set of Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Rear Calipers.

Am i correct in thinking now that Escort Cosworth and Granada 24V rear Calipers are the same as the Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Rear Calipers....

I will be running 273 Vented Disc's..

Thanks

doesn't matter as the mounts will either be cosworth spec or normal spec, the calpers on the solid discs are the same across therange, nothign other than the lugs on the cossie hub/bearing carriers that sit 10mm higher up
