Well with having a right mare finding the right inner cv boot for the taxi I decided to strip the front tend and give it a quick clean up. Wasn't too bad behind there.

Looking a little sorry for herself

All painted up. Not the neatest job, but for durability it's better than surface rust.

Took the light fixtures out of the lights and gave them a quick rub down and brush over too as they looked awful with the rust on them. The little bolts with the square end were a little pain getting back into their slot

And the shaft awaiting its cv boot.

And finally back together. Back on the car I need to slide the little end up a little but at least I can drive her now.

Looks awesome mate! Where did you get the battery terminals and connector blocks from? Have been searching for something similar for a while.

I will do a pf update tomorrow night. Haven't done one in a while on here
Cant do pics on work computers. Suprised the computer system hasnt banned me from going on this site lol. It's very restrictive.

I got all the terminals from a motor factor in Plymouth. I'll have a hunt on eBay tomorrow night and post some links to similar/same ones.

Haven't got any pics of the car with the antenna on suprisingly

cheeRS guys.

Well an update is on the cards I think and here it is.

First off the camber issue was still being investigated. Changed the hubs, ARB's and the shocks around to arrive where I started.

I have been doing a lot of miles in the old girl since Dec??? last year. Driving from Plymouth to Faslane 5 times so far 2500 miles and to date I have only had to replace an inner CV joint spring and a PAS pump and a headlight lens.

She has been getting quiet dirty doing the trips but I have cleaned her up as soon as I can.

Got her all cleaned.

Size: 3.76 MB

Then parked up, for a month

Name: 20141230_141049_zps1970e471.jpg
Views: 197
Size: 4.38 MB

After finding he CV spring had broken. Luckily I ordered 2 complete new ones and took the part out of it.

Whilst she was sat idle I gave the ISCV another good clean.

Name: 20150103_145224_zpsab8bf0aa.jpg
Views: 184
Size: 2.52 MB

And gave the PAS fluid a good flush and change. The colour change must have been the start of the pump about to blow up.

Mmmmmm, yummy.

Flushed that lot out in the end.

Name: 20120101_051520_zpsxaag2t1z.jpg
Views: 149

Had to botch the vacuum line-up a bit to run the car as whilst cleaning the ISCV, butter fingers here broke one of the plastic inlet connections to the dumpvalve.

Could only find my trolley jack bleed nipple to fit the inlet

Name: 20150124_220739_zpsrzsbmz4v.jpg
Views: 230
Size: 3.09 MB

To check the CV spring was fitted after she was drivable again I went for a drive to see a man and his car that throws it's toys out the pram every time it is cleaned Can you guess who it is??????

Excuse the terrible photo.

Then on the way back up 10 miles from base the PAS pump decided to throw it's toys out the pram. The steering went bloody heavy I can tell you
When I got the car inside the base after the gate staff holding their ears from the screatch I parked up to find the next afternoon the base Fire Brigade had been called out to my car to clear up a massive oil slick in front of my car. Oooooops.

Got a very good second hand one and fitted in one morning and could not believe that before the old pump blew how crap the PAS was.

Ordered some ne EBC O/E front discs as mine where starting to warp.
A new head light lens as a stone chip gave it a good wack.
And Got some new AVO Chassis Dynamics Standard Ride Height Springs from Jason who only had them on his for 29 miles.

Name: 20150217_164029_zpsbnbtkg98.jpg
Views: 166

Got rid of that one.

Name: 20150206_124242_zps6aa4abbp.jpg
Views: 161
Size: 3.80 MB

Sorry but the weather was crap so no phot's of the disc change.

Fitted the springs to the car. The fronts were no hassle with the car club at Plymouth base having a brilliant spring compressor.

Out with the old.

I finally found the blasted camber issue at last Whilst putting the front shocks back together I noticed the whole lot on the N/S side was bending when doing up the first of the nuts onto the shock.

Found this about to crack/ snap apart.

The car was on it's own feet there not the lift. Wasn't expecting her to be that high.

Left her there that night for the next day to weld the O/S sill a bit for the MOT.
Also fitted a new exhaust mount as it was dragging.

And when she had her MOT she failed on another bit of the sill. Dam
Rear tyres, rear N/S handbrake mechanism, O/S TCA ball joint and a cv boot clip.

Back up to Scotland and I took her for a blast around the Highlands.

And back down again to come up armed with my polish and wax and give her a good cleaning session.

I thought she had got back up in unscathed but no. Only a stone chip to one of my fog lights.

Since fitting the springs the ride quality has improved immensely. Good springs. I know she looks high but she is still settling in at the front a bit. And I have said it before but seeing the original add photo's of Saphs, it's sitting good.

These are like the battery terminals I have got.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-HEAVY...item3ce51addeb

These are like the ones behind the battery.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-MARINE...item53ef824e36

This is sort of similar to the bigger one of the 2.

Thanks Glenn.

Yeah it's sorted. Forgot to say Richie had a spare Strut cup to replace the broken one.
Looks better. Only an alignment check will prove it. But as she is driving true I shall wait till it is needed.

Yep front suspension work can be a pain, getting the tca off the hub for a start lol.
