Default Shocks and springs for a 2wd sapphire cosworth.

I'm looking to fit a new set of Shocks and springs front & rear on a 1988 2wd sapphire cosworth. I want them the same as original standard ride height. I was speaking to a person to-day and they recommended to use adjustable koni shocks all round with 10% uprated springs. This car is for road use at weekends only. What type of springs can i use? Has anyone used Gaz, Bilstein, Eibach, Apex or Chassis Dynamic springs? Any difference between these brands or which are best to use?

Is there any advantage in using 10% uprated springs?

What brand of shocks and springs do ye recommend to use? A lot of ford magazines show a lot of 2wd sapphire cosworths using koni shocks. I'm hoping to use 16" standard escort cosworth alloy wheels.

Thanks for replying. Are Ahmed bajoo springs uprated for this model car? Who manufactures these springs?

Different people like different things from thier suspension, so if possible get a ride in a cos with the one you are thinking of using.
I borrowed a set of ahmed springs for a few weeks once a while back, they were very good but I did not like them.
I would favour for a road car koni adjusties with chassis dynamics std ride height springs, that said they do drop around 1" from std, but are firmer, had these on two sierras and a xr4i.
If ride height is a must you could consider coilovers and set the height you want then, with whatever spring rate etc you want, more money though.

I was looking at Koni sport adjustable suspension kits (with Blue springs). It states on this kit that it does not lower 2wd cosworth. Are they kits good with these springs?

Default Gaz coilovers

Has anybody on here used Gaz coilovers on their 2wd cosworth? Are these for road or track use?

Hi Max Turbo, Not sure if I have replied in the correct way to your post, sorry if I got it wrong. First time.. I notice you mention the standard ride height re the 88 2wd Sapphire cozy. I have been looking every where for the min & max front and rear. Would you happen to know the limits either way. Cheers Simon.
