Default Correct type springs for 2wd cosworth.

Is there any difference between the standard ford springs on a 2wd sapphire cosworth and a 4wd sapphire cosworth? Somebody told me recently that 4wd springs are slighty harder than 2wd springs. Is that correct?

Also is the front springs different to the rear springs?

Yes on both counts mate. I dont know the ratings but the 2wd and 4wd part numbers are different. I bought a new set for my 2wd at Ford Fair.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm thinking now of fitting adjustable Koni shocks & springs. Does anybody recommend these or are they better ones out there. I'm want to keep the car sitting at standard height and i dont want to lower the car. I was told that fitting adjustable Koni shocks & springs will not lower the car. Is that correct?

I know somebody has a second hand set for sale and is 2 years old. Im told that there is a few thousand miles on these. How do i check these?
Should i purchase second hand or buy new ones. Whats the disadvantage in buying second hand adjustable Koni shocks & springs?

The disadvantage is they could be knackered, but if cheap enough to budget for a rebuild ?
Some people like the KONI adjusties with Chassis Dynamic std ride height springs, thought o be fair these still drop about 3/4 of an inch, even with the koni on the hardest setting they are still amazingly comfy.
