I wonder if sommot like a modern bmw rear set up would work? Mainly made of alloy so its light, and i'd assume to have plenty of adjustments?

1 thing i have never heard about a saph is that they are good handling cars without adjustable rear beams etc.is that true?i have coilovers on my 2wd and proper poly bushes, its been cornerweighted but the damping has never been set.i think its ok,but that rear beam weighs loads and its basically the same as any other sierra, and when it travels up the wheels gain camber, that cant be a good thing!

Thats why BMW was the first to spring to my mind. Think the best bet would be to go to a local scrappy with a tape measure.
I dont think you'd gain owt in tyre width tho tbh....imo thats limited by the actual body and I dont think you get massive gains over 245 anyhows...go to far and you'll over shod it. Its the actual camber angle change that needs addressing more than tyre width. |

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
|
The spring is close to the inner hinge point of the suspension arm, making forces that act on the suspension "strong". Force x Arm = Momentum or something like that. Just a wild guess though.

weight transfer makes them squat. Can be helped by increasing the damping on the rear shocks but that is just reducing suspension travel making it skitish.
unequal length arms make causes camber change and bumpsteer. Again limiting travel will stop it but causes the above. I think every 2wd cossie would benifit from an uprated diff, transforms the handling IME |

You might find the 300ZX rear end as an option, the diffs are strong and are used in a number of cross breeds here.... They are reasonably priced too.
My wife has one and they have loads of good stuff on them. |

Not sure, But you can pick up S13's for peanuts these days, So i'm guessing fairly cheap!
Not sure what the parts cost, but there made by K-sport, Which have had a good feedback on quality etc.
