Before you know it we'll throw the towel in on the YB and be fitted skyline lumps in our cossie's

Have often briefly contemplated a completely different rear beam as the current one does have many flaws and the diff being about as strong as a soggy biscuit when proper power is being put through it all adds up to a package that needs removing completely. As long as teh track is the same then I cant see it being much of a problem doing th eswap. Chassis rails can easily be added to accomodate new mounting points and there are many companies out there that can make up a propshaft to suit. Hmm...got me thinking again also

the only problem is s13s r going back up in price as every1 breakin them, but still think u could get a whole car 4 less than a group A beam,

Where would be the best place to get a 200sx rear beam then?

200SX rear end looks nice and adjustable. Not really an option for me though as I don't have the skills and equipment to modify it all to fit.

The 6 degree rear ones are still a good option for people like me and I think should offer all the adjustability I need for a road car with the camber and toe adjustment.

Be interested to see if anyone gets a 200SX one fitted - I presume there's a much better choice of "drifting diffs" available as the SX is so popular with the Drift crowd.

I'm quite interested in trying the re-rated Viscous ones that CTS/Bara offer for the Sierra - anyone tried one out?

I think every 2wd cossie would benifit from an uprated diff, transforms the handling IME

Which diff do you favour Dan?

Besides all the alternative rear ends mentioned, I've got to say that the established 6 degree types like Harvey and Danny B do make an amazing difference if you like really driving your car....especially on winding, bumpy roads. So much more confidence inspiring in my opinion...............

and the settings and addjustments that can be made is endless
Nissan installed factory fit diff coolers on the S13 and S14 200SX road cars - they had viscous limited slip diffs. The cooling was enabled by a speed and temp switch.
I think on the S13 you had to be going over 6mph and have the diff oil over 130 deg C for it to open the stat to the cooler.
On the S14 type the speed factor was increased to 75mph.
Many people seem to bin them as they weren't used in ordinary driving. A few people wired up their cooler switches to a dash light to see if they ever utilised the cooler. A few of the drifters said they only came on after prolonged 'drift' sessions of 20 minutes and 60mph plus slides.
The s14 200SX viscous diff has a higher Nm rating as standard than the 7.5" Ford one. Approx 30Nm versus 24Nm.

I think a s14 200sx rear axle would be the job. You can get all bolt on adjustable arms (I suggest driftworks), they have a very good design, are cheap to buy, you can bolt in skyline GTR diff and driveshafts to make them take lots of power and decent diffs are readily avaliable.

I personally would love to try one of them in a Sierra, I'd say it could transform the car.

The Ahmed beams and the Adrenaline beams are both very good. A few people havn't been happy with the ZOO beams due to build quality.

Has anyone ever thought about fitting Mondeo mk1/mk2 (4x4?) rear suspension to the Sierra? The setup is basically the same as the Escort WRC, as that is what they copied when building the Escort WRC. I think if you'd make a sort of cradle, just like the WRC has, the arms and uprights from the Mondeo can be used. Of course the turrets will still need changing to fit the mcpherson struts.

Default Another idea........

If your drag racing why not fit and atlas and a 5 link back end??

Easy for spares, Plate LSD's , diff ratio's and can be narrowed to keep wide tyres inside standard arches.

You also have No camber change that reduces traction on launching...
Only an Idea.....
