hi lads finally got enuf money saved to get a saph.which shud i buy 2wd,4x4.do u get 2 enjoy them 4 more than 2days b4 they break.as i hav a s2 i know this.i never really hear of saphs being rotten is this true.any advice wud be apprieciated

Rust is obviously going to be an issue on most cars of this age, usual place on cossie is rear arches, sills, jacking points etc.
Mine has been 100% reliable after I tracked own and fixed all the bodges.
2wd a LOT more of a handful, but more rewarding to drive, I find 4wd are ok just like boring.
Box on 2wd massively stronger than 4wd, which was made on blue peter!!
I would still prefer a 2wd even in the wet, but a lot would prefer 4wd, try and get a drive of each, as they are different driving cars.

Plus if you plan to mod it then the 2wd drive over all is the cheaper option as when you start to seriously increase power on a 4b you need to start looking at uprated diffs, gearbox and longer shafts if you lower

Also check strut tops m8,4x4 far better imo but then i know my limits.
