Default Cossie 4x4 Head Removal

Can someone just point me in the right direction. Can a guy take the head off complete with exhaust manifold, turbo, inlet manifold and plenum chamber? This looks the simplest, is it possible?

yes but it is heavy and you will need two people a least to help it unless you want a smashed back.
the problem is when you put it back on because there is no alignment dowls on the block and you can damage the gasket so make up some from the old head bolts buy cutting the heads off as you cant use them again

I'm assuming you just catch the sawn off bolts enough to be able to remove them afterwards. My problem is that there is a gurt big air con pipe that goes across the corner of the inlet manifold so I would have to move the head sideways to clear the pipe. This is OK when taking the head off but to utilize your good idea makes it a tad difficult. Don't want to drain the A/C really.

i know the pipe maybe if you remove the inlet plenum box section it might give you a bit extra space
if you use old head bolts as a guide, build up the thread end with tape just slightly smaller that the bore diameter of the head holes, this helps to centralise the head more and also cut a slot in the top so you can unscrew them out with the head on.

Is yours LHD as well as I can just see what looks like brake pipes under that A/C pipe in the picture. Thats my other problem that I have a brake master cylinder there with ABS pump that sits so close to the plenum chamber I am wondering if I can pull the cover out far enough to clear the intake tubes (velocity stacks) inside. I'm not being negative it's just my thought process as I want to do everything right

no she is RHD but i do recal a friends LHD one and yes it was tight in that area.it might be worth removing the inlet manafold complete, its not that difficult and will give you the clearance required,
you may find when you remove the head that some of the exhaust studs are broken or the nuts missing so it might be worth checking.
you may also find when or if you remove the turbo and look in that there is a crack in the manafold, dont worry about it as all 4x4s manafolds do that and its ok.
the finis code for the studs are 6184363, the nuts are 6163722 and the washers are 1465430.
if you need any pictures, finsh codes for head parts or any othe info let me know by pm if you want.

I used two sticks in the holes just to locate when lowering back on, then just pulled sticks out, about 18" long.

How do you remove the bolts under the inlet manifold. I can't touch them let alone undo them

as the guys said, use a short spanner, or what ever fits, its not to difficult once you get on to the bolt and get a turn
