I'm looking for one of these currently just phoned up Ford who say it NLA but they would need to ring around to see if anyone has one. Quoted £96 for it though.

mine was a mint new ford one but my exhaust mani leaked a bit and has now killed my one lol................ARSE
looks like i will have to get a bit more creative

Get on the web for LANDROVER bits, as a almost identical one is fitted to these, but MUCH stronger, just needs drilling and bolting.
NB this is for the flexy bit NOT the knuckle on the end of the steering shaft, as I assume this is what you are reffering to ?

Gonna replace mine too while I can get to it easily... Apparently you can use one from a Mk1 Escort with minor mods...
...Superflex do an uprated poly item (part no. SPF1159K) about £35ish I think.
Obviously old one has to be drilled out and new one fixed with short bolts... but being poly you won't have to replace it again!!!
This is what i'm gonna do anyway...

right im not very clued up here and thought i needed what you said! i've just come from ford where i bought a rubber donut, washer and clip thingymabobber. they are not part of the coupling tho. the coupling (as said above) is about £96 and now obsolete!

lambchop - it sounds like you've bought the bulkhead bearing. It's a ring and a collar with a triangle shaped hole in it?
You need that if you have play in the steering column. You check by holding it close to the end and wiggle it, any play change it.

Easy to do, even with engine in.
Just move bottom part of column out of the way by removing column or sliding lower part up the sleeve, then take plastic part of the end, then prise out centre plastic piece of bush from the rubber outer in bulkhead, then remove rubber piece.
Re install in reverse order, making sure inner plastic piece of shaft is pushed fully into plastic piece within the rubber outer in bulkhead, then push the CLIP down to hold in position.

I have taken my bush out now and have just ordered the Superflex one as in a previous post as I was having trouble finding one form my local motor factors as they don't stock them so couldn't have a nosey about. It should be here by the weekend so will have a go fitting it then.
I did see one on ebay for a MK2 Granada that looked very similar (the finis code they quote doesn't bring up anything), also Microcat listed various Finis Codes for the original part, the ones I got and the description are
6662306 - One listed for the 2wd saff
6662305 - OHC, or Cologne V6 or Peugeot Diesel 2.3 Less power steering
6662312 - Peugeot diesel 2.3 RHD, GB with power steering
1630797 - D, 2wd
6653228 - GB, 4wd
Just waiting on Peugeot to get back to me on whether they have one, also awaiting a response from Powerflex to see if they have anything.
Will keep you posted on how I get on

got home and the bush from superflex has arrived photo of the kit
this is the old joint removed from the car and bush out.
it all needs a little bit of work but you do need to rescue the two metal bushes, and push them into the two spare holes and cut to size. Then just need to drill the old fixings out, possibly get some more strengthening bars made up or see if I can get the old fixings out, oh and I need a couple of bolts
will be suggesting to superflex what to put in to make it properly fit

I did similar to above when mine went, But I bought a land Rover Discovery coupling 2nd hand ground off the rivets, then did the same with the ford one and bolted it together with 12.9 cap screws, then put a dab of weld on the nuts to make sure the MOT tester was happy that it wouldn't fall off, been great since. Only cost about a tenner and a bit of time.

what year and model was the discovery did it come off as I was going to have a look but none of the scrappy's round here had any and I couldn't find a picture of one so didn't really want to take a risk in getting one.
I have put mine back together now and all looks good. One question, is it better to use locking nuts on the bolts going through to hold it together or would I be just a safe with the normal nuts and a load of thread lock as that is what I have done so far but want to make sure its right before going down the road and finding out I can't turn
