You don't need diff, prop just needs modding(if cheaper than 2wd?).
Front x member, steering rack(pipes), ARB, tca's, probably loads more as well.

because when you already have a near concours condition car it would be hard to replace it with a 2wd version in the same colour

Hi

My mate has just converted his & it was alot harder to do than what you would think & after all the hassle it still dont drive aswell as a proper 2wd.
When you change the sump you also have to change the oil pick up.
There isnt a bracket where there should be to bolt the 2wd gearbox to.
He also had to buy new suspension because when he removed the front diff & shafts etc the car sat with its nose in the air because of weight difference.

Cheers Matt

there are 2 ways around that:

1) bolt a length of 50mm box section to the mount in the floor on the 4x4 floorpan and mount the 2WD gearbox crossmember to that

2) there is another ford crossmember available that bolts to the 4x4 floor and takes the 2WD T5 gearbox

i reshelled 2WD engine and transmission into a 4x4 shell, but i had everything from the 2WD shell to use.

don't forget that the 4x4 abs will not work correctly in 2WD - the calibration in the ecu is different. that is why they have different colour connectors that do not line up and the looms are different
