I just fitted a forge group a dump valve to my otherwise standard 4x4 cossie.

I was sure that the first time I let off with the car on boost it gave off a drawn out "tish" noise.

Now it only seems to make a flutter noise, which is very quiet and can only be heard with the window down.

Should this dump valve be fairly quiet ? Will it get any louder with a K&N panel filter in the airbox ? and did I just imagine that first "tish" ?

Any ideas/advice appreciated

Sounds like its not working if your not getting the 'tish' sound.

The flutter may well be turbo chatter, muffled as you have a std airbox and filter, so suggesting the dump valve is not opening well if at all.
If you want noise fit a K&N cone filter(group a), this is what I have and it is VERY loud, I have a collins group a diaphragm dump valve, which I took apart and drilled the holes out in so they are as big as possible without it breaking, easily heard 1/8 mile away!!

It might be worth changing the spring I bought a goode dv which did not work at all until I changed the spring

Hmm, I'll try the dump valve on my friends car and see if it works on his.

Its a new dump valve so if its not working i'll just send it back for a replacement.

i had that dv on mine and it only goes off if you are running a fair bit of boost as the spring is too strong!
