Default new cossie owner and f****n lovin it!!

hi guys apart from being new to the forum im new to fords as a whole im 21 years old and brought my 1st saph and i cant belive i had jap cars when a cossies were in my face

i was convinced by a friend who has had had cossies since he passed when he was 17 and now his in his 30's him and his brother know everything about them and do all the works by themselves

i wanted to find 1 standard or atleast near enough so i can do own work with pride

i hunted around and found a dimond white 1 with about 4 owners and it is mint on a K plate 1 of the last of the line and with electric sunroof FSH, HPI clear it was perfect!!!

over the past few days i started buying parts from burton power in essex and building my stage 1

i wont brag on so heres som piks of what i been getting upto

some piks under the bonnet and some work being carried out

some bits i brought

Very nice but the rear spoiler is wrong for the year, K reg should have a colour coded spoiler.

Forget stage 1, go Stage 3, you'll end up going at least stage 3 in the end anyway.

Best of both worlds so I am a lucky guy - point is - its your car so play whatever way works for you and have fun fun fun

I'd always thought the rule of thumb was 350 safe-ish maximum for standard 4x4 drivetrain?

I've heard that too but I've also heard that 300+ is enough to melt the chocolate.

I've never actually rollered my car but would like to do so to see what she is pushing out,

ps: its gone through two boxes and I don't really abuse it..... that's the truth

Going back to coloured spoilers, they were only full colour on the last 300 produced (not registered), so alot of 92 spec saphs still have the black tip spoiler.

thanks for the welcome guys

im not to worried on gearboxes as my mates got 3 sitting in the shed plus he knows evrything on them so im ok on maintanence wise

the reason i use burtons is coz ther 2 mins from my house and i get trade price there which isnt to bad

i brought a saff coz i felt the convinents of it haveing some 1 there who gives me piss prices on labour and he owns 4 including 2.4 strokerd 1 which is his brother who can rip open the engine and put back together

but im so glad i got the saff and not an evo

my next step is to get som compomotives MO's

i understand that fords have got a record of bad maintanence but i always belive that most cars with issues have been abused yea i admit i put foot down here and then but not each and every min of driving it

i belive you treat your car well then it treats you well

and belive it or not i dont find them to be that expensive compared to something like an evo or scooby

Cossies are NOT unreliable.. owners are, skimping on basic jobs will cost you BIG in the long run, check the oil and water EVERY day, and inbetween times if you get chance as well, a std car can burn 1 litre of oil in 1000 miles, even says it in the handbook Nice saff

Nice car mate look after your car and it will look after you. Ive had my white saff cossie for nearly 2 years now. Ive spent a few hundred quid on it easy. If my car needs anything it will get it. They put a smile on my face every time i go out in mine. I love cossies.
