Lost Keys
I have lost the keys for my sapphire cosworth and need to "break" into it, but being a good boy I have no ideas where to start!
I have bought a complete lock set for the car so damaging a lock is not a problem.
Do I just get a screw driver and give the lock a seeing too?
It has an alarm but the battery is not connected, so the alarm isn't a problem
Any help will be great
Cheers

Try this if its a worn lock, cut a tennis ball in half and stick it over the lock - then get someone to bang it / pump it as you pull the handle gently - didn't believe it until I saw it done.
When mine was broken into they used a small screwdriver and twisted the lock in the door so that the little rod that links to the central locking was pulled. It did slightly twist the lock in the door tho so be careful.
Best of luck mate

The tennis ball ONLY works on cars with VACUUM locks not sierra's!!
Call out the AA/RAC if you are in them, I could get in in less than 15 seconds with no damage, so don't break the window whatever you do.
I assume your car has central locking ?, if so as the bonnet is up flash the battery lead a few times against the battery post and you MAY find it unlocks itself.
A halfway decent locksmith will get in there in thier sleep so no need to break anything.
It is possible to get in with a piece of metal shaped a certain way, so if you have no joy PM me and I'll tell you how, it's bloody fiddly though!!

get a screwdriver flat type, wrap in a rag and gentley wedge out top of door and use a bent welding rod(mig),get a mate to look through opposite window and direct you to handle, get behind it and pull
done it a few times on sierras when i was stupid enough to leave keys in ignition and play with the batt
and it locks itself

You should keep a copy of the number of your key so that you can just get one made, by any decent locksmith/key cutter.
There are only a total of four cuts on each segment so not hard to do.

You can also "read" the key to get the number from it. Someone taught me how but I forgot the exact procedure I'm asking him somewhere in the near future as I need to refurbish a couple of locks (ie, replace the tumblers)
Might be difficult "reading" it if the key is too far worn though.

I think you're right davy!!
I had a figure of 4 in my head, but just looked at key, I do remember being told though that there is a refference cut which is the highest, as others are then taken off this ?
I will have to look at me friends cutter key holder for ford keys.
