I modified the XR4i mount to fit, otherwise you have to weld the car up to use the cossie mount.

hahaha, you need to look to the american merkur guys. we are the masters of putting a t-5 into a sierra (merkur) shell. you can check out rapidogroup.com they make a mount specific to mounting a t-5 under a merkur. i have one on my car and it fit perfect.

i think BAT inc has them too, but not sure.

or you can get on merkurclub.com or merkursportcom and look for a user galaxie1. he makes mounts as well.

why make work for yourself when theres a std ford cradle that will fit straight on to the car with no mods

I think I've got one on the shelf at my unit.

but didn't cossie4i say that the car would have to be modified to use the t-5 mount? or the t-9 mount would have to be modified?

unless you are talking about yet a different mount.

yup, he did say that, and he said it to me when I converting my 4i.

but I used a direct bolt on replacement IIRC you might have to redrill the holes on the alloy plate that bolts to gearbox, but no mods to the shell or crossmember.

i see.

we have a few individuals and companies that have made a new crossmember specifically for putting the t-5 under our cars. so we just get one of those and bolt it to the transmission and then bolt it to the mounts under the car. no redrilling necessary.

in this picture you can see the crossmember sticking out to the left in front of the exhaust.

and this one you can see it peeking out behind the swaybar.

cheers, ian
