Better working on the L6, over L1.
The L1 has a 8 channel multiplexer, and 8 bit A/D convertor.
The L6 has a 12 channel multiplexer, and a 8 bit A/D convertor but additionally has a sample hand hold circuit, three 16 bit registers, self test, six multipurpose analogue or digital inputs, five external analog inputs, and an 8 pin input/output (I/O) data port.
Think of it as upgrading from a 90 hz computer to a 4 gig one, if you are going to change though might as well go L8.

Yes just plug in, but have to get L8 TPS, and reverse outer two wires on tps connector if using a 2wd(L6) loom.

It's an option if you want upgrades, but bear in mnd the cost of everything and you can go aftermarket for less, and have way more features than L1,6,8, P8 will ever be capable of.

Alan S1, as you mentioned AL this cannot be added to L1 or L6, so still needs L8.
