Default Advice on Seat belts and Recaros

The black plastic coating on the bracket mounted to the B pillar that the seat belt runs through is faded on my car. It must fade due to sunlight on it. Has anyone been able to fix this or do you just have to replace the seat belt assembly? Can you still get seat belts from Ford for a sierra?

Next question is about the recaros. Im changing the foam pad on the seat base just now. Has anyone done this and do they have any ideas on how to secure the top cover to the new foam pad? Is it a case of stapeling it back down? What did you do?

Thanks for any info on both topics.

I had both my seat base's replaced and the base side bolsters recovered along with the bolsters sponges repaired. The centre base cloth was also unstiched and pulled back round and restiched to make it firmer again. The whole lot cost 60quid at a local upholstary (sp?) company (they mainly do sofa's ). They made a cracking job...feel like new and they did a really good colour match on the side bolster material. Try your local yellow pages for sommot similar?

Oh rite, just read that again. So yours were stiched to the foam base?? When I took my seat apart it was stapled. Im trying to source staples to do teh job, as you cant just use normall staples. The staples need to splay out on the foam to hold it tight.

Thanks

nah sorry chap, you've miss understood me. The seam thru the base meterial as you look down on it 2/3rds from the front was unstiched and then restiched to make the old and stretched meterial tighter again. Not sure how its stuck to the sponge base...presume spray adhesive??

Ah rite. Ok in understand what you mean now. Nah im pretty sure its not spray adhesive. It was a type of staples into the foam but not normall staples. I will have to ask at a upholstery place.
