Default Would 225/35/17 Tyres Cause Rubbing Issues?

I'm going to be replacing my 205/40/17 tyres in the foreseeable future and was wondering if there would there be any rubbing issues using these tyres on a 4x4 sapphire which is lowered 10mm.

Thanks for your help.

Pete.

Maybe, the 225 may catch but the 35 will most likely prevent that, so its a maybe

i use 215 40 17 and have no probs at all on a 25 mm drop

Ok, thanks for that.

I thought more people may have used 225 tyres however.

Ive got 215/40/17s on my cossie n if i go round corners when there is someone sat in the back, the back tyres catch on the inner arches. Also my osf tyre catches on the arch. My suspension isnt lowered i think its just the standard stuff sagging a bit.

I run 235 on the back of my Saph and only get rubbing is i have alot of weight in the car and go over a big bump.

With yours being a 4x4 this makes more of a problem, as you need to run the same size tyres front and rear. You might get 225 on the front but you will need the archs rolling atleast and i expect they will still rub on the inner arch at full lock.

I,ve got 225/35r17 on mine and they are fine, no rubbing anywhere and it is lowered slightly. Wheels are 8x17" et35. Also the tyre fits nicely on a 8" rim.

your other option is to run 215 40 17 on the front and 235 35 17 on the rear, as they give the same rolling diameter. Thats what i am gonna run on mine once ive had my wheels refurbed
