Default Another Q RE; what fuel do you use ?

Sorry another question
What petrol do you use / recommend
I was using BP ultimate but it was costing an absolute fortune and i have been told to not use just normal unleaded , so i have been putting super plus in it !
What about everyone else ? is that right or should i go for a certain sort of petrol
Thanks

ALL cossie engines can run standard unleaded without harm or damage.
BUT they will run much better on premium unleaded like 99's.
In a recent fuel test done I am sure it was BP ultimate that came out best, but my cos does not like it, but goes so much better on TESCO 99.

Why use shell or bp when the tesco stuff via greenergy has all the same engine cleaning additives and is cheaper? And you get another 1 RON

Yep red top can run 95 but won't deliver it's best, will not cause any undue wear though.

If you're running more than standard power you NEED super unleaded, something about 95 ron can't be used with enough ignition advance needed for higher boost, if I remember right.

Seens as I didn't answer the question

I run mine on Sainsbury's Super unleaded - which before I get an earful, is cheaper and just as good as the other Supers in my area, which look like this:

Sainsbury - 96.9 p
Esso - 101.9p (incidentally started at 97.9p, but went up and stayed up while sainsbury had new pumps fitted!)
BP - 102.9p
Tesco - no super at my local one, nearest super and 99 is 13 miles away
Shell - nearest station is nearly 20 miles away

When I can get Tesco 99 I buy it, because my engine runs better on it than it does on anything else.

It simply wouldn't pay for me to put V-Power in - it'd cost me a tenner just to go and get it

Hey guys, What kind of ECU mods would have to be done to run racing fuel? Say a 109 or 110RON fuel. I would imagine running hi octane fuel with no mods would be like throwing money down the throttle body with no increase in power!!

If using these super octane racing fuels it would ideally need a complete remap.
The reason why the cossie can run std unleaeded is it was a legal requierment that it be able to do so at the time, but they just won't give thier best, especially with the antiquated ecu they have.
If you want the best power then it has to be LPG at 118 octane, slaughters petrol for power all day long, when set up right, I used it to power my 4i with 58 degrees advance(total).

93 octane it's hard to find anything better without filling up at a not so local drag strip. US gas sucks nuts.
