15ins/16ins/17ins
i need some help here people as i`m really not sure what to do wheels wise.
i have a set of 16ins comp TH`s which i will use on the road and will later on have a road legal race tyre like an r888 so at places like combe that dont do slicks i`m sorted but what should i use on track else where???
i have set of cossie 15 ins wheels and a set of 17ins wheels but which is best for the track using slicks and i will get a set of wets to, brakes are standard size for now.

i'd prefer 17" in the future you can easy upgrade to thicker/bigger brakes.
And personally i find the 15" with 57cm(diameter) tires a bit to small. At the longer straight ends on a circuit ur doing really hi revs with (to) small diameter rubber. Take some 17" (and wider ofcourse) u can can easely do 61 and 62 cm tires. Pulls less, but better driving in mid range, thus saving your motor a bit.
16" then? well, never had those on any car i have (had) so can't adive on that.
+ that 17" slicks are more common than 15" these days, so a bit cheaper
cheers

cheers guys, i will upgrade my brake as soon as i can but for now they`ll have to do
i have a set of 7x17ins and can get a set of 7.5x17ins so the 7.5 wide would be best for the slicks and the 7`s would be good enough for a set of wets.
my 16ins erent going anywhere unless a good offer came in and the 15ins are a no no.......

Testing the future
bigger wheels ruin the handling of the sierra in my opinion. if you don't have to have bigger than 15" for big brakes, i would stick with them
i've had cossies with std 15's and with 17's on the road, track and nuerburgring, and i'd say that the 15's give the best handling balance and feel (although not necessarily the fastest lap times)

15's or 16's for beat handling really Dean mate imo
As Nick said 17's/18's will ruin the handling, although they do look the best hence me having 18's!
