Default t34 - spec ?

I plan on building a drift saff, and using a set up based on the stage 3 set up i.e. greens, t34 etc, but whats the best thing to have done on the t34?

and what sized exhaust housing is best ? bearing in mind I'll be on and off the throttle quite frequently...

cheers

Keep a .48 housing so it stays in the power band longer na dhas better torque spread, also think about getting 360 bearing and step gap seal.
De shrouding the valves helps a lot with boost earlier as well.

i think its cut back blades and stuff like that, to make it spool up quicker. also i think they can run more boost than a standard t3

I would say stick with the t34, with a 48 housin, keepin the 48 housin the turbo spools up lower down the rev range, bout 3200rpm helpin when ur on n off the power, im runnin a t34 with a 63 housin it comes in so much later in the rev range bout 3800rpm and it comes on boost really hard, so not the best 4 what u r after, i havent ever driven a t34 with a 55 housin so cant really coment on how they drive

That's worse than my T38 Tev........

I'd go for a T3 HYBRID... or a T34.48 ...

Yes, cut back blades just stop it overboosting, right?

i have just bought a new t34 48 housing 360 bearing with cut back blades from turbo technics swapping from my stage 2 t3 i was told by tthe compant that if i wanted it to spool up like a t3 and not suffer the lag then cut back blades were a must and thats from the horses mouth as they say! Alex

CUT back blades!!
This is done as a sort of halfway house when there is no exact match of trim wheel for the application.
It is as it sounds a cutting of the blades to lose surface area.
I am using a T3/34 but it gives 1.9 bar at 2300rpm, my friend is using a T34 which is so laggy compared to this, doesn't really get going until 4000rpm, I wanted low down torque, the head mods were awsome and cheap, £235 but my god what a difference, even 20mph tractors I overtake easily in fourth gear and it pulls even at these low revs, and the extra top end breathing is fantastic best mod on car so far!!
