Default Front door removal on a Sapph

I've got a new front door to fit on my sapph on the drivers side. I know you can remove them by removing the whole hinge by unbolting it but on the drivers side I can't easily get to the nuts that hold the hinge to the chassis and I had quite alot of trouble re-aligning the passenger door after I've just changed it.

Is it easy to remove the door pins to leave the bolted part of the hinge in place?

Thanks

How hard is it to remove the pins? Can you simply drive them out?

The top bolts on the hinge that hold the door on are behind the dash. They are a bit of a nightmare to get at.

Try knocking the door hinge pins out if you can.

there is a special pin removing tool, but you may be able to get away with a long thin punch so you dont damage the door

I have never had any luck driving out the door pins only because they are in a awkward position, even using the special tool! If you manage to get the bottom one out the top one is real pain especially if its rusty!

I had to do the passenger side and I just removed the whole hinge.

I would worry about using a punch and hammer to remove the pin.. as it might un align the hinge.

on the mustangs you just drill out the center of the pin |<---- then it breaks in half. both ends can then be pulled out. hinges on them wear out prety quick though due to the heavy doors.
