Crazy Revcounter
Hey everone, i have a small problem with my 1991 4*4 saff cossie. When coming on boost in 2nd gear, the revcounter decides to fly off the scale. Any ideas on what could be causing this poblem? Other than this the car, starts and runs spot-on.

Hi
I know what your problem is
On the inner wing near the battery is your ignistion amplifier. Now, unplug the connector and give it a clean with a new rag. Then earth the ign amp from one of the bolts which hold the item to the metal holder directly to the battery! (use a earth wire like you get in a amp install kit)
This will give you a nice earth and 99% of the time get rid of the problem
let me know how you get on

I've got this exact problem with mine and its driving me nuts. I initially thought it was the phase sensor but there is a beige connector round the back of the distributor which seems to be the problem on mine. Its a two pin connector and i don't know what it does but is definately the cause of my probs as if you move it around sometimes it clears it for a few miles then it always comes back.
