Low mileage Saff 4x4 value
I may very well be mad but I am considering buying another Saff 4x4 as a daily driver, I have had 3 before and used them daily and apart from some bad luck with a turbo on the last one they have proved very reliable, I am really looking for that rarest of beasts a sub 40k mile car, how much should I realistically expect to pay for such a car as and when it comes up, the last 2 I bought for Automotive unlimited but is there anywhere else I should look as they are so scarce I think using one source will take ages
I have seen the black 47k miler advertised on RSOC at £9300 but I am not convinced this is a good deal although it is a stunner, I have have had lower mileage cars in the past and paid less.
Most people will only pay low money for higher mileage Saffs nowadays, does that make it a buyers market for low milers or a sellers ???
Any help will be much appreciated

When I was looking for mine last year, I viewed an £11,500 Saff at Automotive Unlimited . That was one owner from new, FSH, and 39k miles. IMO prices on good ones are going up as they are getting rarer and rarer.
£9300 with 47k seems a lot, but cars are only worth what people are willing to pay for them.
Good luck with your hunt

A 47K car shouldn't be costing £9,300, that's way too much.
At 47k it's going to be well on it's way to a top end rebuild, and half way to a full engine rebuild.
I'd pay £6,000-£6,500 for a 47K standard car in mint condition with few owners.

To be fair, although i see why they are priced highly for low milage cars i can't really see the point in worrying about milage on a car like a saph anymore. Espcecially as your going to be using it daily.
I'd rather make sure the car was a good one and ran well with no issues than worry about low milage. I'd personally prefer an equally tidy car with 80-90k miles and save £2k or so

I use my saff cossie as much as i can. Me n a mate share lifts 2 work, one week he will drive and the next i will drive i do 38mile a day in mine for 10 days in the year. People say standard cossies are worth more money than modified ones.

My last Saff was a 80k fully engine rebuilt Automotive car however the turbo still gave up the ghost a week after I got it and had been showing no signs up until this, I got it fixed then it blew the water to turbo pipe, maybe very bad luck but my low mileage cars never had this problem.
To be fair after that it was 100% reliable but the damage had been done and I had lost faith, it was sold shortly after......

there is no reason why a 40k car should be any more reliable than a 100k saff.
i really dont understand why people get so hung up on mileage....i know of a few saffs that have gone WAY above 150k without having rebuilds, as long as the car has been looked after, that is the most important issue.
i understand a 40k car may have less wear on components, and interior etc but there's no reason to say it may not be a complete lemon, the biggest and most expensive thing to fix is rust, as once you have it, it doesnt go away
just get out there and look at some of the cars for sale, and make a decision from there
trying to find a car thats minimum 15 years old with sub 40k may be a bit too difficult, and you may be paying a premium for something which may have no benefit!

I just bought a 44K saph for £9250, but its far from standard - Mountune built engine, RS500 plenum, 8 greens, 6 pots etc etc
Normally i wouldn't have entertained a sapph at that money, but the mint condition and the state of tune did it for me - i don't actually NEED to spend any money on it as everything i'd have done to a standard one is already done to it.
I suppose at the end of the day any car is only worth what someone will pay for it.
