Default Newbie: Q RE; Thrust bearing

Hi
Just wondered if anyone could offer any advice ?
I have a 2WD sapp and there was a noise that the other half said was the thrust bearing because when i put my foot on the clutch the noise stops !
So he changed the thrust bearing but it still does the same thing !
So could it be that maybe we got a dodgy thrust bearin [ it was a new one from fords ] or could it be something else ?
Any advice welcome
Many thanks

If the noise stops when you put your foot on the clutch pedal it will be a bearing in the gearbox most likely the first motion bearing in the bell housing just behind the thrust bearing

It could just be a little drag because of an out of adjustment clutch quarant, reset it by pulling pedal up whilst pushing quarant away with your thumb, then press a few times to readjust.
Noisy release bearings can last years, some are just that way, I have only ever had one go bang, on a metro.
