Default Getting Hot!!

Ever since my 3dr has been stage 3 ive noticed the temperature raises when i boot it..

When it woz stage 1 it woz fine..

It happened 2day on the way and back from the fordfair, cruizing at 90mph and my SECS MONITOR flashes and says water temp is high..

Ive got a standard rad, do i need to upgrade to a alloy one?

Depends what "HOT" is ?
The std rad should be fine but will have a battle on it's hands at the moment due to the hot weather, alloy rad would of course help, but COPPER will disiapte nearly twice as much heat for the same size/area and be nearly twice as strong.
NB you can also get a intercooler made from copper!

I've noticed the same thing myself recently, when nailing it in this hot weather the temp gets a bit on the high side, and I know my fans etc are working. I think perhaps the RS500 intercooler might reduce be in the way of the rad a bit??? Not sure about that, but deffo getting hot in this weather.

Are the alloy rads supposed to cool better then?

Well the normal temperature gauge sits at bout halfway so nowhere near the red..

Its just the SECS MONITOR peaks at 96c and then it warns me..

Fans gut in fine aswell...

96 C is nothing to worry about, so long as cooling system is ok, this hot weather is doing it.
Alloy rads cool better than std ones, but copper is WAY better.
If you make a deflector to gon behind the bumper between the rad and bumper so no through flow of air can escape, this will help a lot as well, air always goes the easiest route, so a lot deflects UNDER the radiator, unless you prevent it.

hhmmm good point Tab. Out of interest we momentarily hit 100 around silverstone yesterday but no problems... mostly stayed around low 90s.
Same on the motorway drive home - think we need a deflector

yep they sit on top of the rad ,and fill the gap that is infront of the intercooler,, what noramlly happens is as you increase the boost ,the turbo gets hotter as it creates more heat, hot weather makes it worse with high air temps, the turbo has a water supply, and this is returned to the header tank. the turbo cooler will cool this water before it is returned to the header tank which prevents the temp from rising and affecting the whole engine coolant temp.

another option is to run a slightly bigger turbo set up and run less boost, giving less heat but making the same power

check the blockage first!
