Hello I have just bought an RS500 rear lower spoiler and although is not in bad conditittion, is not flawless to be fitted on my just rebuilded 3 door.
it is a little parched and off-white and I would like to leave it as new as possible.
Is there any way to painted?
Anyone knows how to paint the rubber?
Or is any technique or product to do a restoration of it??

there are primers for those rubber surfaces, so you could paint it black using these in advance - but that would not look genuine then...

I¨m sure that all of you know the sierra XR4I.
the car had a lower rear spoiler very similar to the RS500, made of ruber, and it came painted in the same colour of the car.
If that spoiler came painted, it is possible to paint my RS500 loser spoiler.
The idea is to paint it in matt black or maybe satin, to match with the original look

new ones in scandinavia - with out cut out too upper rear spoiler .

use a hair dryer or hot air gun on it.
only slightly tho it will bring back the black.
all that happens is the rubber dries out so if u heat it slightly it will return to its original colour.

its the same thing u do to plastic black bumpers.

Black liquid shoe polish work wonders on the rubber spoiler - the ones with a sponge on the end of the bottle.

Whatever you do dont paint it.

i actually have the lower spoiler from a saab 9000 on my merkur. it is very similar to the rs500 lower and is rubber as well. i use wheel and tire cleaner and then tire shine to clean mine and keep it nice and black.
