4x4 gearbox- gear selection problem, help required!!!
my 4x4 saff has developed a problem with gear selection, it has got a b&M quick shift fitted but i dont think this is the problem.
The problem is that there is no spring in the gear selection, you can get all the gears without problems but it feels like there is no gate there, you can completely miss 2nd gear, and if you push the lever all the way to the left or right then it just stays there, any help much appreciated
cheers matt

may be the typical b+m problem which lagues loads of people
someone will come along soon enough but the gate problem you describe might be something to do with the fact the pin has broekn in the box
there are 2 ways the box has a "gate", one is on the actual shafts which the slectors move on, ther is a littl ebox on one of them which stops you from changing gears side to side, but there is also a pin on one of the selector shafts that traces round a HH pattern inside the box
this normally breaks in the MT75 box which leads to this problem, assuming it's not the shifter
