cosworth 2wd hot starting problem...
when the car is warmed i'm having trouble firing it back up,its turning over quite a few times before it eventually fires.
i had the same problem last year and i changed ecu, All sensers, then i changed the loom.
When i removed the loom, i noticed one of the relays which is under the glove box was looking as if its been getting hot/shorting.
The car ran fine after the i put in the other loom but now it seems to be slowly starting to do it again.
Any ideas peeps?

You should not have to go to the length of replacing a loom.
Establish whether you are missing sparks or fuel when this happens, and find out what the relay does, what colour is it, does it have a fuse attached to the side of it.
It is more likley something electrical as it is bad when it is hot, though it could be coincidence that it got better when it had a loom change.
A dicky coil is a fav when HOT to give erratic problems just as an example, so if not already done so, a group a coil works absolute wonders on these cars.
I would look to see how the spark is when playing up, so that you can hopefully establish whether it is fuel or ignition, does it always PRIME on ignition ?

Tab ive just been and took some pics of the old relay to show you.
(i hav'nt got time to upload.i will tommorow)
Last time when i had the problem i had no spark, but i havnt checked this time as it has fired up after a couple of turns.
I'm just worried its going to start happening again .
I forgot to mention that when i know its going to struggle to start, it turns over really slow and some times clicks as if bad earth, I then have to turn it over an over a couple of times before it fires.
cheers Greg.

Classic dodgy starter then, or bad battery, to do this when it is hot.
Check battery then all connections, then as you say it turns over slow replace get recon-ed the starter, or DIY as most likely only brushes anyway.

The sensor at the back of the head is the CTS sensor which can indeed give problems, but it would be the same all the time, if bad to the extent of causing it not to start it would be belching soot from sooted up plugs, and be running badly, but certainly not going to hurt checking the CO which needs to be around 2-2.5% CO.

blue senser on back of head has been changed so has the starter with a recon one. Also the battery been changed.
one thing my mate noticed was when you turn the key you can hear the pump and it constantly runs.he thinks its meant to stop after its primed but mine just constantly runs?
