Default Can't get my left hand front driveshaft back in

I took my LHF drive shaft out on my 4x4 Cossie and fitted some Powerflex bushes at the same time, boy what a job, now I have come to put back the drive shaft and cannot compress the spring, inside the inner CV joint, enough to locate the lower ball joint into the spindle carrier. Is it me just being a wimp or has something changed to stop me doing it

you need to spin the hub as the shaft goes in
the splines don't line up correctly and spinning it will help them slip home

try fitting the outer cv joint last, put everything together and leave the shock for last, it worked for me...

If Dojj's suggestion doesn't work then maybe this may help ?

I used a ratchet strap for tension and a small length of wood to twist the strap and pull the wheels together. Dunno if that's any use

Thanks guys, now I know it wasn't my ignorance and that other people are having the same problem, I think the ratchet strap seems like the best way as you have a certain amount of control and not likely to slip.Saves skinned knuckles
