Default rocker breather threaded fitting, what size?

I took my powdercoated rocker cover to be machined today but they said they couldnt do it due to the bailey breather pipe sticking up.

So I thought that perhaps I should get it treaded and a goodridge fitting put in instead. Has anyone done this before if so what size and thread type did you get done?

Cheers

John

mine is getting done by my engine rebuilder so i not sure on what size hes doing it to but, if you buy the fitting, you are going to match it to
your breather hose etc right. so you would want to drill an tap a hole
for the correct size and thread of that goodridge fitting you intened to screw into your rocker cover. get what i mean

p.s the baily pipe should just tap/pull out of the cover IIRC

Thanks guys,

Yes see what your saying Dox, I guess I just need to measure the hole from under the cover and then buy a fitting slighly larger then get it treaded to the fitting type and size.. I was going to use the standard Spec-R breather pipe I have which I think is a -10.. any one know for sure?

the outer part of the fitting is big , but the inner part is small, its a common misconception that the goodridge fittinga are the best when most of the time they are just oversized because there alloy, so you need to use a massive fitting to get the burst pressure correct under load or to get the required internal diameter
