Default Search Suspension Kit for use in Rallye-Sport

i search an suspension Kit for my Sapphire 2WD Rallyecar.
It shud be with height adjustment at front and rear axle.

In germany i didnt find anything for an good price.

I see some kits in england, but i dont know the manufactors and dont know which one is good or not.

Can somebody help me, i saw kits from AVO and GAZ, dont know which one is better?

Or shud i look for a other manufactor?

properly specified Bilstein, Ohlins, or Proflex units would probably serve you better

Thats true, but they are very expensive.

We drive only little Rallyes with the Sierra also we have an Escort Cosworth for the bigger ones.

If i buy a kit at Bilstein, i have only the dampers, without Springs and fitting kits, but for more money.

indeed, those you've found are the 'affordable' ones. tough when driving the proflex, bilstein, intrax, leda, h&r types, you'll know/feel why there is a price difference.

i know, but if you have 2 cars, you cant buy the best parts for both, its to expensive.
We drive the Sierra only at small rallyes.

In our Escort we have a Bilstein kit.

i don't have any experience really, but have heard that you generally get what you pay for.

some of the cheaper kits are ok for the road, but when used for tracks or, worse still rallys, they will not last long

maybe better to buy used, good quality kit?

the dampers are the important bit, the coil springs you can get from anywhere and are very cheap in different lengths and strengths

Given the choice of AVO or GAZ, not that experienced with both, but AVO do a motorsport range, with decent insert and valving, Nigel Madigan the MD of AVO does compete himself in an esc cos and last time I saw him he was developing this range, on the downside they are probably more expensive than the fast road/track GAZ shocks but I wouldn't compete in a car with fast road/track suspension.

I have now an offer from a dealer in germany, dampers from Bilstein for £730. Springs for £160 and fittingkit for £17.
All include: round about £900

Or i can buy the GAZ GGA kit, they write its for street and Motorsport use, for
£795 + shippment to germany.

I think i will buy one of these kits.

springs for £160 what are they made of, gold? 2.25" springs are usually only about £15 each, and even if you have some small 'helper' springs, that is very expensive

I would go for a used set of bilstein or proflex coilovers. Then you get a kit that is adjustable on compression and rebound, very high quality, and they are not expensive to do service on or change the basic rating on the dampers. I use 3-way adjustable Proflex and i payed 85£ for changing rating on all four with refilling. As said, springs are not so expensive, but more expensive springs usually have more suspensiontravel at the same length as the cheap one. Depends on if you need it. I payed 1500£ for my Proflex, and i,m glad that it,s so easy to fix with them.

Proflex is nealy the best one, but i need to be very lucky to get a used set to a good price.

A friend of me drive a Proflex kit in his group A Escort, and he said he never can use the full performance of this suspension.

But i think with the Bilstein Dampers i have a good set, and the springs from a dealer who buil racecars and is specialiced for cosworth have to be good, he shud have enough expierience.
