Hi,
I made a spacer ring and retaining bracket to allow fitment of 6.5" Pioneer Components in my Sapphire. Apart from four screw holes, no cutting of the door cards was required. This sounds way better than the standard 5" components (that had perished).
The rears are 5" but I have seen plenty of examples of 6" and 6x9's fitted to the rear deck. Again a spacer is required.

Thanks guys.
Any preferences as to brand or whether to have components in the front?? Im really a tad unsure as what to get to get a good sound with spending daft money.

Any brand will be ok so long as you spend about £50 plus. I'd recomend Pioneer, Alpine or MB Quart for front speakers.
Components will give you a much better sound, but you need to mount the tweeter as high as possible to get the most benefit (top of door card, A-pillar or dash)
The MB Quart speakers are a gem but cost a fortune. For some good prices on speakers check out www.caraudiosecurity.com or www.bassjunkies.com.
Also, spending £15 on a dynamat doorkit will help improve the sound quality of any speakers.

Personally, I love my Dynaudio 2way components up front, but at around £350 a set (5 years ago) I should too
