cosworth discs n calipers
Hi all
is there any way to check by looking at the calipers if they are cosworth caliper or standard sapph calipers or r they the same?
also what size are the cossie discs as i have been told that is what they are but they look a bit small.
thanks

Very easily identifiable.
The single piston sliding calipers as fitted to 4x4 sierra and escy cos, + 99% of other fords, is easy to spot as it has a opening where you can actually see through the "GAP" on the outer facing bit each side the PAD, plain as day, it has like TWO CLAWS that go over the top of the discs to press it against the other side, you will alss see a metal clip about 5-6" long bewtween the two clawsspaning across the caliper from one "CLAW", TO THE OTHER.
On 2wd, 4 pots you cannot see the rear face of the pad but you will see if oyu look at it the TWO bulges on the outer face, where the pistons are inside, of course the other two are on the inside face of the disc.

The shape of the pads is TOTALLY DIFFERENT FOR EACH.
Single piston sliding caliper 99% of fords the pads are semi circular like a "C" shape, long and thin, the 4 pot ones are ABSOLUTELY SQUARE, and have two slots in each end on the outer face for the retaining pins, the others do not.
