Default lambda sensor position

i have had a lambda sensor boss fitted to my downpipe it is roughly located on the downpipe just before it goes under the car will this still work a afr gauge ok or is it in wrong possition any help appreciated thanks

Position only important in so much as it needs to be in the exhaust!!
It will still work AFR guage, lamda 1 is 14.66 by the way, but normally reffered to as 14.7 as this is close enough.
