Clicking amal valve....
Every now and again the amal valve on my 2wd sapphire cosworth starts clicking rapidly.
Only happens on idle but as soon as the engine is rev'd it stops and may or may not come back.
I know the TPS is tied into the amal valve somehow and was wondering if it would just be a case of adjusting the TPS?
If so how is this done?
The car is running a level 8 ecu.
Cheers

i had this on my 2wd saph. and it was the electrical plug contacts on top of the amal valve were loose, and so the valve was getting turned on and off all the time, hence the clicking.
maybe to simple, but hope it helps

i had the same problem with my amal valve and it was the settings on the tps.
To set it up follow this guide:
1) Ensure ignition is OFF.
2) Remove rear of ECU plug cover and insert plug back into ECU.
3) Turn ignition back on (do not start engine)
4) THROTTLE CLOSED:
4x4: Check for DC voltage less than 0.5V between pins 11 and 17.
5) THROTTLE FULLY OPEN:
4x4: Check for DC voltage greater than 4.5V between pins 11 and 17.
Slacken the tps and turn it to reset to these specs and it should sort it ,it did on mine.

Ok been out and checked them voltages and on closed throttle I got 0.04v and on open throttle I got 4.72v so Im guessing this is fine then?
What about if the throttle linkage doesnt move freely enough and its not sitting on tatal closed throttle sometimes?
I might just remove the throttle body and clean up and lubricate the linkage anyways.

I had a really low reading on closed throttle too, your reading needs to be closer to 0.5 v,i managed to get mine to 0.45v and it transformed the drive and cured the amal valve clicking.
