hi all my brother is buying a saph cossie 4x4 what things does he need to look out for is there a short list

Hi there here is what I would look for

Is the car original Ie wings, doors, vin plate the engine should have a 200 block 4x4 head and sound healthy no smoke. bad for warped front discs also rear callipers as for the rust problem, boot floor, sills, drivers floor pan, rear strut tops and the odd rear chassie leg. noisey gear box main bearings. ask to see any paper work for parts and work done to the car hope this helps

A big rustie is also the rear arches, personally I would not touch a car with original panels with a barge pole, but everyone different.

he has bought a silver 4x4 now but has ran in too a few probs.

the dvla claim its crushed but vosa say its not and has just been mot'd do these computers always mix up like this as same happend to my brother in law.
the saph was a cat d and he has all pics of the work that was done. just waiting on a inspector coming to identify the car.
vin plates and security codes are o.k and he hpi'd it before he bought it all sound but this is a bit gutting for him as show time is upon us.
