Wheel fitment ? 3dr

Should 8x17 et40 with 215/40/17 tyres fit a 3dr, if any one has them fitted wots the clearance like on the front bumper?

I had TSW hockenheims in that size fitted on my 3dr and they were fine. I also spaced them out 5mm front and rear to make them fill the arches more!

Wouldn't 215/35 be closer to the original rim/tyre's radius?

the off set dont soud right

i have 8*17 with 215/40 on my 3 door and they only just catch on the near side ,for some strange reason
