Default Cosworth headgasket

HI!

I have a question regarding the head gaskets. Both gaskets (see pictures) are sold as Ford Gr. A headgaskets and sometimes additional written YB0611.
As you can see, the gaskets look different. Is the gasket on picture two a YB1261 gasket?

Who knows the answer?

If it does not have YBO611 written on front upper face then it is a Yb1261 which is a std one, both made by VICTOR REINZ, they also make a 1 PIECE METAL for some cars which are very good.
The "official" group a is made by the above company from day one and stamped accordingly as it is a slightly better material.
There are fake or rather crap quality "group a" ones made by some dodgy italian and spanish factories, and are terrible despite one costing over £200.
A very good thing about the proper group a is that as it is fibrous it moulds to an extent to any slight imperfections and is good for up to 400bhp.

So if I don´t push the engine above 300hp, the YB0611 and YB1261
will work fine?

If you don't START the car the YB1261 will be fine!!, seriously it is that crap, don't even think about it.
YBO611 is the ONLY one to use, and still cheap as well, don't know how much you are paying but we pay around the £55/60 mark for one.
I love AUSTRIA, went there on hols a lot as a kid.

Or better still than the YB0611 is the cometic multi-layer gasket. Use only if head and block are completely true and flat

Austria is lovely, and so are the women!!, a cometic is a excellent gasket to use if needed, with the new one which has sealant on the edges it is no longer essential to have block skimmed, just cleand up well.
An ARP STUD + NUT kit is also a very good idea especially on 2wd heads/blocks.
